History

Tradition and modernity

On 17 February 1969, Mr Jean Lumineau established the company.
At the time, it had a team of 8 people manufacturing 35 pairs of shoes a day. Between 1983 and 1987, the production area was expanded to 2,400m² to accommodate 130 people. Then came the 90s, during which France Mode sought to develop its expertise in women's footwear. As such, Pierre-Yves Palueau, Mr Lumineau's son-in-law, joined the company in 1992, followed by Olivier and Jean-François Lumineau in 1994. The new management structure was now in place. A proactive decision to begin exporting has allowed the company to conquer new markets and generate 30% of its revenue abroad. Its staff training and knowledge transfer policy has allowed France Mode to remain one of the last French manufacturers for urban women. This major advantage contributes to the development of partnerships with leading names in the French luxury goods industry who seek out the company's expertise in high-end footwear. There are currently 80 people working at the Épesses site. France Mode generates more than €8 million in revenue and sells almost 200,000 pairs of shoes per year, which are distributed to more than 1,200 clients in France and abroad.
